Automated image abuse: Fighting deepfakes’ use in non-consensual pornography

Deepfake image abuse (also referred to as deepfake non-consensual pornography) remains the most common malicious use of the technology by a wide margin. Since first emerging in late 2017, deepfake image abuse has become a global crisis, impacting millions of women around the world as tools have become more accessible, sophisticated, and well known.

In this session, we’ll discuss how deepfake image abuse became the dominant malicious use of the technology, who it’s impacting, and what we can do to fight back.
